It's not a secret that there are many kibbles out there that are not good for our fur babies! They (and commercially produced treats) can be mostly full of carbs, grains and starchy vegetables, as well as meat-by-product, BHA/BHT, meat meal, rendered fat, artificial flavor, among other things. That can lead to health problems like obesity, plaque and tartar build up, high blood sugar, and the list continues.
But not all kibble is bad, and there are simple things that can be added to their food sometimes to help give them extra nutrition and some lower processed food, to name a few...
It's never too late to add some #realfood to your pets diet!
Ozzy (our dog) is 16 and we have recently been adding more fruits, veggies, meats and some dairy to his kibble, to help keep him in as good as health as possible, as more health problems can arise with older age!
He is also definitely getting spoiled with all the taste testing he does for Yummy Treats, but we make sure he gets his steps in for the day ;)
Reminder: any questions or concerns about what your dog can eat or questions about their diet should be discussed with a licensed vet!
