Is your dog always itching?


Well itchy skin is common in dogs and can happen for a multitude of reasons, from major to minor. But whatever the reason it can be annoying and uncomfortable for your furry friend, and we know you want to help your doggo ditch that itch.


Some home remedies that can help with itching are...

  • Apple cider vinegar and water spray

  • ACV is antifungal and antiseptic, the water is added into the ACV to dilute the mixture

  • Oatmeal bath

  • Oatmeal is an anti-inflammatory and should help ease the itch as well as any additional redness or swelling. Plain oats should be used and added to a bath, dogs should soak for around 5 minutes.

  • Chamomile and green tea bath

  • These teas have anti-inflammatory properties. Tea bags can be seeped in a bath and then removed, allow your dog to soak for around 5 minutes.

  • Coconut oil

  • The high amount of fat found in coconut oil, promotes healthy skin. Simply massaged into coat and skin to help ease itching.

  • Primrose oil

  • Primrose oil has anti- itch and anti- inflammatory properties. A few drop can be applied directly onto the affected spot.

  • Aloe Vera

  • Aloe Vera can be used to reduce redness and soothe spots. 100% Aloe Vera should be used and applied directly onto the affected spot.

  • Baking soda

  • Your kitchen staple can be used to reduce redness, itchiness, and inflammation. Use 50% water and 50% baking soda to make a paste and apply onto affect spot, let it sit for about 15-20minutes then rinse off. You can also add some to a bath.

  • Diet with omega 3's

  • Omega 3's promote healthy skin.
